Disaster Relief

Receive training to serve those affected by disasters.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NIV

Disaster relief is an exciting new area of missions for us. The Southern Baptist Convention plays a large part in disaster relief globally through the efforts of trained volunteers. As we build a disaster relief team at Smith Grove, we anticipate responding to calls from SBC Disaster Relief, as well as being prepared to assist with local natural disasters.

There are a number of possible areas of service: chainsaw, mud-out, food preparation, childcare, laundry, communications and chaplaincy. If you are interested in being trained, click the button below to contact us about upcoming training sessions.
