Finding Life, Learning to Live, Living to Serve

Disaster Relief

Disaster relief is an exciting new area of missions for us. The Southern Baptist Convention plays a large part in disaster relief globally through the efforts of trained volunteers. As we build a disaster relief team at Smith Grove, we anticipate responding to calls from SBC Disaster Relief, as well as being prepared to assist with local natural disasters.

There are a number of possible areas of service: chainsaw, mud-out, food preparation, childcare, laundry, communications and chaplaincy. If you are interested in being trained, contact Luke Zbinden about upcoming training sessions.

For the most current information about Smith Grove’s disaster relief efforts, join the Facebook group here. You can also find more information about the broader Southern Baptist Disaster Relief effort by visiting NAMB’s website.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
